Montauk Point: Ocean 5

The Montauk Point Lighthouse is at the eastern tip of Long Island, New York. I like to go in the summertime. Weekends in the summer have the biggest crowds.

There is a place there where you can get something to eat. You can also go in the museum which is full of history about the Montauk Point Lighthouse and the Long Island, New York area. They also have a gift shop which sells everything that is lighthouse related.

You can also climb the lighthouse and go up the 137 steps. I only did it one time. It is pretty high up. I don't yet have any pictures from up top yet.

How do you get there?

From New York City:
Go East on I-495 to Exit 70,
South on Route 111 to Route 27,
East on Route 27 until you get to the Montauk Point Lighthouse.
