Ocean 16

I like the ocean waves in this picture. The sky is a little cloudy.

Montauk Point Lighthouse

The Montauk Point Lighthouse is at the eastern tip of Long Island, New York. I like to go in the summertime. Weekends in the summer usually have the biggest crowds.

You can go in the museum which has a lot of history about the lighthouse and the Long Island, New York area. They also have a gift shop which sells everything that is Montauk Point Lighthouse related.

You can climb the lighthouse and go up the 137 steps. I only did it one time. It is pretty high up. I don't yet have any pictures from up top yet.

There is a place there where you can get something to eat and drink also.

To get to the Montauk Point Lighthouse:

From New York City:

Long Island Expressway
Go East on I-495 to Exit 70,
South on Route 111 to Route 27,
East on Route 27 until you get to the Montauk Point Lighthouse.

From New York City:

Sunrise Highway
Go East past Exit 66 (the last exit),
This turns into County Road 39,
Follow the signs East 27 and Montauk Hwy until you get to the Montauk Point Lighthouse.
